Opals are delicate stones which are sensitive to changes in factors such as temperature and humidity. They are also porous, which requires special care to maintain its iridescent rainbow-like hues.
Avoid contact with water and any other liquid. If it becomes wet, dry it and let it air dry for 24 hours. When not dried properly, opals may crack.
